There are some yogas in astrology that are more feared and considered more dangerous or inauspicious than others. I have listed 5 of them in the slides below and defined them and their inauspicious effects in the later part of this article. For example what is Kalsarpa dosha, sade sati, mangal dosha etc.
Note: The above positions are only for example. The yoga can be different than seen above. For example in Manglik Dosha example slide, Mars is shown in seventh, however, it is equally true for first, second, fourth, seventh, eighth and twelfth house.
Guru Chandal Yoga:
Guru Chandal Yoga is said to be formed when Guru i.e. Jupiter combines with Rahu in the same house. Some astrologers who believe in 5, 7 and 9th aspect of Rahu say that the aspect of Rahu also causes Guru Chandal Yoga. The astrologers say that this makes a person do evil things, unwanted approach and hence go through unnecessary troubles. Kaalsarpa Dosha: When all the planets are trapped between Rahu and Ketu, the yoga is known as Kaal sarpa yoga. It is also called Kaalsarpa Dosha. There are twelve types of kaalsarpa yogas that are popular. I had recently written two articles on Kalsarpa Yoga (one each in Hindi and English). To read about the effects of Kalsarp yoga, you can find the links at the end of this article. Mangalik Dosha: A person is said to be born under Mangalik Dosha when in his birth chart, Mars is placed in the ascendant, second house, fourth house, seventh house, eighth house or twelfth house. As per many astrologers, this yoga is particularly inauspicious for married life. Sade Sati: Sade Sati is named after the seven and a half years period that Saturn takes to cross from 12th house from the moon to second house from the moon. For example if Moon is in 10th sign i.e. Capricorn, sadesati for the individual will be when Saturn enters 9th sign i.e. Sagittarius and continues till Saturn crosses 11th i.e. Aquarius to reach Pisces. The effects of Sade Sati vary from sign to sign but it is generally most feared. It is believed that the person going through Sade Sati will face challenges, problems and most of the things will not go right or there will be extra effort. Pitra Dosha: Generally it is said that when Sun and Rahu combine in first, second, fourth, seventh, ninth or tenth house, Pitra Dosha happens. Similar is said if Saturn combines with Sun. It is also said that Rahu in ascendant (first house) and lord of the ascendant i.e. lagnesh, in sixth, eighth or twelfth house then the native would be suffering from Pitra Dosha. The one having Pitra Dosha is supposed to face mental stress, issues with children, financial problems etc. Some suggest considering moon as well under this category. Above is what is generally said about these yogas of astrology. I will write some other time in future on how I feel about these yogas. |
